dome
1. A high shaft in a room or passage formed by solution [13]. 2. A large hemispheroidal hollow in the roof of a cave,formed by the breakdown and/or salt weathering, generally in mechanically weak rocks, which prevents bedding and joints dominating the form [25]. See also dome pit.
