biospeleology
1. The study of subterranean living organisms, particularly in karst caves and other openings in rock formations [9, 21]. 2. The scientific study of cave animal life, or the biology of caves, karst, and groundwater. A biologist who specializes in this study is called a biospeleologist [23].
