subcutaneous flow
Lateral and vertical flow that occurs within the epikarst zone under saturated conditions. Lateral flow distances can exceed hundreds of meters and several meters per day while vertical within discrete percolation drains (subcutaneous drains) may allow flow rates in excess of several hundred meters per hour.
