This session will include papers describing methods for characterizing karst areas of the Midwestern US, and problems associated with the formation of cover-collapse sinkholes, cave collapse, and groundwater contamination from point and non-point sources. Sources include contaminants associated with urban and rural environments including road salt, pharmaceuticals and personal care products, animal waste, septic effluent and N-fertilizers.
