Hosted by European Speleological Federation - Fédération Spéléologique Européenne, the 26th International Cave Bear Symposium (ICBS 2020) will be held in Reiss-Engelhorn-Museen, Mannheim, Germany on 8-11 October 2020. All researchers and interested parties are invited to take an active (talk/poster) or passive role in the proceedings.

This symposium will be held for the fourth time in Germany. All researchers and interested parties are invited to take an active (talk/poster) or passive role in the proceedings. Basic data about the congress is given in this 1st circular. At the end of the document thereis a booking form with which you can register for the symposium.

Congress location

The congress will take place in Mannheim (Baden-Wurttemberg), a modern and innovative city situated at the junction of the rivers Rhine and Neckar. The talks and presentations will take place in the „Anna-Reiss-Saal“, Museum Weltkulturen (D5).

How to get there

Mannheim is best reached by car by taking the motorway exit "Mannheim Mitte" or "Käfertal B36" from the A6 Nuremberg/ Saarbrucken. ICE trains connect Mannheim main Station (Hauptbahnhof/Hbf) to the Stuttgart Airport and Frankfurt Airport in about 40 minutes. ICE connections are available from many cities in Germany. From the station you can walk to the museum within 15 minutes or you can take the tram to “Paradeplatz” (usually three stations, routes and lines may change due to undergoing construction).

Conference Fees

The conference fee is 50 €. The feeincludes entry to all congress presentations, along with refreshments during breaks in the proceedings on the day of presentations, the welcome drink,the conference dinnerand the excursion day. Payment details follow in the 2nd circular.For the post-conference excursion, there will be an extra fee of 10 €.
