UIS Commission on Karst Hydrogeology and Speleogenesis

The 57th Midwest Ground Water Conference is being held October 1-3, 2012 in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Calvin Alexander of the University of Minnesota and I are the co-chairs of the Karst Sessions at the conference. At this time, we are seeking others who may be interested in being involved in these sessions. At this time, potential session topics include:

  • Hydrogeologic characterization of karst aquifers in the Midwest
  • Case studies in karst land & water management
  • Spring hydrology characterization
  • Mining and karst in the Midwest

We are also looking for other ideas for session topics. If you are interested in being involved in this conference as a  session co-chair or a session moderator, please reply to me as soon as possible. You can reply by e-mail or call me at 507-206-2853.

If you are not interested in either of those opportunities, I would encourage to consider presenting at the conference. Please pass this information on to any of your colleagues might be interested. The Midwest Groundwater Conference is a great atmosphere for presenting papers in a relatively relaxed yet professional atmosphere and is a good way to meet and network with other folks working on Midwestern groundwater issues.

Thank you,
